How I Got Here
Seven years ago I was feeling overwhelmed. Working too many hours, too little free time, and every dollar I made seemed to disappear straight into bills. I was in my early 30s and one day I just looked around and thought — is this it? Do I just exist like this for another 35 years and hope there's some retirement at the end?
That thought really ate at my soul. I knew there had to be another way.
"So I did what any logical, responsible man in his early 30s would do — I sold everything I owned."
I bought an old Ford Econoline with 245,000 miles on it, built it into my first tiny home on wheels, and drove straight to San Diego. I figured I'd travel for a year or so while I figured out my next move.
Turns out — this was the move.
With every year that passes I enjoy this life more. The freedom, the community, the simplicity. The way a great parking spot feels like winning the lottery. The way strangers in vans become lifelong friends around a campfire.
I've now lived on the road for 7 years across 5 different vehicles and built a community of people who understand that you don't need a lot of money to live a rich life.
I started sharing my journey on YouTube and quickly realized how many people felt exactly the way I used to — stuck, overwhelmed, and quietly wondering if there was another way. There is. And Nomad411 exists to show you that.
The Mission
Nomad411 is built for two kinds of people. If you're already on the road — this is your resource hub. Find trusted builders, vetted gear, rigs for sale, and a community of people who get it. Connect at in-person meetups or in our online group between gatherings.
If you're just getting started — this is the resource I wish I had seven years ago. Honest information, real costs, gear that actually works, and builders you can actually trust. No fluff, no highlight reels. Just the real road ahead.
My goal is simple: to show people who feel stuck that it's completely possible to stop surviving and start thriving — and that you don't need a lot of money to do it.
Follow the Journey
I share the unfiltered, day-to-day reality of van life across YouTube and Instagram. Come say hi.
